Day 2: Yerevan's Story and the Spiritual Capital of Etchmiadzin

After lunch under the shade of a garden café, the pilgrimage continues westward to the Mother See of Etchmiadzin, the Vatican of the Armenian Church. Day 5: Tatev Monastery by Sky and Return to Yerevan

Day 6: Lake Sevan and the Khachkars of Noratus

Today’s journey heads north to the sparkling Lake Sevan, where the hilltop Sevanavank Monastery offers unmatched views. Continue to the Noratus Cemetery, home to the largest collection of ancient khachkars in the world. Day 7: Into the Forests of Dilijan

Day 8: Lori’s UNESCO Treasures

Day 2: Yerevan’s Story and the Spiritual Heart of Etchmiadzin

The day begins with a somber and meaningful visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum, where you’ll learn how faith carried a nation through unimaginable suffering. Then continue to the Matenadaran Manuscript Museum, home to some of the world’s oldest and most ornate Christian texts. In the afternoon, journey to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Visit the Cathedral, believed to be built on the very spot where Christ appeared to Gregory the Illuminator in a vision. Day 3: Khor Virap, Geghard, and Garni: Foundations of Faith

Begin at the legendary Khor Virap Monastery, where Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for thirteen years before converting the king and the nation to Christianity. With Mount Ararat rising in the distance, it is a site rich in spiritual power and breathtaking views. Continue to Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site carved into solid rock, once believed to house the Holy Lance that pierced Jesus’ side. Then travel to the nearby Temple of Garni, a rare pre-Christian remnant that reminds us what Armenia left behind when it embraced the gospel. Day 4: Karahunj, Areni Cave and Noravank: From Noah’s Anchors to Monastic Wonders

Head south to the ancient site of Karahunj, where mysterious stone markers are believed to be the anchor stones of Noah’s Ark — an echo of the flood that ties Armenia to biblical beginnings. Continue to Areni-1 Cave, the oldest known winemaking facility in the world at over 6,000 years old, a place where archaeologists have also uncovered early evidence of Christian worship. After lunch and wine tasting at a local vineyard, ascend to Noravank Monastery, tucked between red rock canyons. Day 5: Tatev Monastery by Sky and Return to Yerevan

Gather with your fellow travelers over a curated table of classic Armenian dishes and local wines, accompanied by live music and warm toasts.

Day 2: Yerevan Markets, Matenadaran and Lavash Introduction

Day 3: Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery and Village Lunch

Continue to Geghard Monastery, partially carved into the rock and once home to the spear that pierced Christ’s side.
